I have just finished designing the Natural Focus Safaris 2013/14 South America brochure. The pdf version is now available online, the printed versions are on the press at the moment and will be available at all good Australian travel agents in the next few weeks.
The cover of the brochure features an image of a girl from the Yanomamo tribe located in the Parima Tapirapecó National Park, Venezuela. This striking image was taken by American photographer Art Wolfe, who I was fortunate enough to meet last year. Several of my images from Peru and Colombia are used inside the brochure.
The 100 page brochure takes several weeks of intense work to put together. To create the brochure I use Adobe Indesign for the layout, Adobe Illustrator for creating maps and graphics and Adobe Photoshop for image editing. When completed the brochure is uploaded to a server and the print process begins. The web press used is actually located in Queensland. Proofs are printed and then sent down to Melbourne via overnight courier. I check the proofs and sign off the pages, any changes are uploaded again via the server. Once signed off the printing process begins and brochure then arrive 2-3 weeks later. The hard work and late nights are all worth it when the glossy brochure lands on my desk!
